This is a fairly easy walk along the sea wall from the popular Colwell Bay to Totland Bay. The mapped route has a loop back on the inland path, but you can easily just walk back along the sea wall.
Colwell Bay is popular with swimmers with sandy beaches at low tide. You can check the tides here.
From the slipway, turn left and walk past the popular Hut restaurant and carry on along the sea wall. Round the corner is a small landslip so there is a gentle hill to climb and back down to the sea wall on the other side.
From here it’s flat and straight all the way along to Totland, also popular with swimmers, kayakers and other water sports enthusiasts.
Parking is available along the seafront at Totland up to the Waterfront Pub. you can carry on past the Waterfront all the way to the old lifeboat station.
If you choose to take the inland loopback, you can go up the steps at the Waterfront to Turf Walk, then head back along, over the bridge and take the path back to Colwell.
